There are many types of winter hats on the market.

But, the best winter hat for skating outside on your outdoor ice rink is the Ushanka.

We've all seen Alexei Kovalev in his commercial, stick handling outside while wearing a big furry brown hat. That is the Ushanka - it is the warmest hat in the world!

The Ushanka is a distinctively Russian hat with huge ear flaps that can be tied up to the top the hat. The ear flaps can also be tied at the chin to protect the ears during the most brutal winter cold.

The word Ushanka comes from the Russian word for cap and translates to ear-flaps hat in Russian.
