National Hockey League (NHL)The official ice hockey rink dimensions for the NHL are 85 feet wide by 200 feet long (25.91 meters by 60.96 meters), for a total of 17,000 square feet or 1,579.47 square meters.Hockey Rink Diagram Olympic or International Ice HockeyThe official ice hockey rink dimensions for Olympic or International Ice Hockey is 98.42 feet wide by 200.13 feet long (30 meters by 61 meters), for a total of 19,696.79 square feet or 1,830 square meters. Hockey Rink Diagram Comparison of NHL and International Hockey RinkThe difference between the NHL rink and the Olympic/International rink is that the Olympic/International rink is 2,696.79 square feet larger (250.53 square meters) than the NHL rink. Backyard Rink DimensionsFor our Backyard Hockey League :) you can make rinks of all sizes... and different shapes limited only by your own imagination. When I built my first rink, it was 16 feet by 32 feet and had square corners. Now its dimensions are 32 feet by 40 feet. My kids have grown since the first years of our backyard ice rink. I have made plans to increase it to 48 feet by 64 feet. |
